inherited awesome 99 runner that needs some love!!@

So here's the story... I had an awesome 03 wrx wagon for around 7 years but crashed it 4 years ago and although fixed, has been exhibiting concering electrical problems for about 2 years... Like I was replacing a bettery alternator or starter every two months... So I traded it for a sensible family car, 13 Mazda cx9... Awesome car but BORING!!!!!!

SO......

I inherited what my wife had been driving.... A 99 5speed 4x4 Sr5... Th been in a front end collision... And driven for several miles with a cracked radiator and no coolant....

I was able to replace the radiator and engine for about $1800 (shade tree mechanic, junk yard motor with 120k miles, my runner has 150k).

Now the front end..
I'll oust pics when I figure out how.... But I need a bumper cover, headlights, grill, who knows how many brackets.... Lots of work still....

ok, here are the poor night photos... obviously, after the body work, ill need paint... im thinking black... perhaps flat? and defiantly get rid of the gold trim... perhaps also black or dark grey???? im here for advice and help, cuz i do really like this truck and want to fix and treat it properly... its my new toy!!!!

also, before i consider the body work, it needs tires... i understand a stock 99 sr5 on 16s can fit no larger than 165/75r16, yes?

the crash also damaged the ac evaporator, so no ac until that is replaced.... plus the interior, which was once lovely leather... is ripped to shreds, so i need seat cover to start with, perhaps eventually a re-upholster with more resilient material?

Thanks! I'm thinking of findind junkyatd parts to fix the front to save money, it is a limiting factor! I'll see if my shade tree mechanic friend can help me out.

Need to fix the front also beause the headlights point up, and are cross eyed!!!


This truck will be awesome.... After a lot of work... And unfortunately money!!!!
