Insight on algorithm behind VSC?

I guess it is an outside chance that one of us would ever have some of the info as to how the VSC makes the choices it does.

For example, front understeers, what does VSC do? is it advanced enough to, say, only brake the rear inner wheel? (assuming that would be the ideal way to return the vehicle to its intended path - I'm no professional driver by any stretch)

From a programming perspective, it would be relatively straightforward. I would expect a heuristic (rule-of-thumb) approach. Kinda "if this, then this".

Data input would be: yaw sensor, wheel speed/direction (times 4), steering wheel direction, anything else?

The system is very sophisticated and does exactly what it needs to do to get the vehicle in line, including applying braking to one or more wheels. It does things that can not be done by human input. I find it funny when some people make the comment that they can react faster and better then these systems.

Ha! That is funny. If you needed to brake *only* the 2 inside wheels what do "these people" propose?
