Installed 4runner 2007 JBL Radio into a 2003

I just installed a 2007 6 disk JBL into my 2003 4runner and it works perfect plays MP3's and no modifiying and no gaps just plug and play and fits perfect just anted all that are looking to do this to know. I bought the unit off ebay almost brand new perect condition for 100.00

Do you have a link to the seller? Also, does it have an aux. input??

Don't all 4th gens come with an AUX input inside of the middle glove box, or is that just because I have the JBL?

Our '06 has it with the base stereo.

Yeah I think they all have it, just most people don't know about it unless they look for it in their manual, because it's hidden away pretty well.

I think they only started the aux input 2006+

My 2004 did not have it, and when I put in the 2005 6 disc head unit, it did not have a interface cable. I instead went with a PIE unit.

Oh, interesting. It took me like a month before I knew I even had one. It was when I bought the AUX cable to go to my iPod/iPhone.

My 05 most definitely doesn't have one and I have the JBL system (single-disc). How does that PIE adapter work?

Do a search for it

It plugs into the back of your head unit and then allows you to have an external input. It fools your head unit into thinking there is a external CD changer. It's great for plugging in your IPOD, GPS or portable DVD Player so you can have the audio coming from your truck's speakers.

Isn't a 2003 have a different dash trim piece with deeper location of radio, where 2007 is almost flash mounted. If so, did you have to trim some of the plastic off?

I'm only aware that single disc bezel are differnent than the 6 disc bezels. I put a 2005 6 disc JBL radio into my 2004, I originally had a single disc JBL.
