Installed a new set of horns today

So we all know how terrible our stock horns are. We have these badass, lifted off-road trucks, then when we honk at someone, its almost embarassing how weak the horns are. For Christmas my wife got me this setup. Its a Chrome Hawk electric air horn. Now its not one of the huge air horn setups that cost hundreds of dollars, but it was well worth the $50 she spent.

I ran the power through a 30 amp relay and threw in a 20 amp inline fuse. Probably way more than needed, but better safe than sorry. I also put it on a separate switch, so I still have the stock horns. A little overboard with the switch, but I've always wanted one.

Horns...think they're right at 115dB

The switch I used. I moved the alarm indicator to the panel next to the steering wheel.

This was more for entertainment than anything, but will be handy when someone really pisses me off.

I just removed a set of those same horns. I didn't like the way they sounded when lightly-tapped. I switched back to a set of Hella High/Low superTone horns.

How did you have them set up? With this switch I can't lightly tap them, it gives them a burst at the least. I didn't want to permanently replace the stockers, that's why I went with these.

I had it wired to replace the stock horns. The switch sounds cool, perhaps that could work.

Ah, gotcha. Ya I figured with the little compressor, it'd be better to wire separately. Plus I can't get in any trouble for not having a stock horn, not that I will...

Ya, I've been wanting to get this for a while, just never got around to it. Unfortunately, no one's given me a reason to use it on them yet!

I went to the junkyard and got a set of horns from a Ford Excursion for $10. Now my truck sounds like a truck!
