Installed New HPS Hoses. Nicely Built

I was due to replace my radiator hoses and I remembered a customer of mine had me install a set of HPS radiator hoses on his 4R awhile back. I was impressed by the hoses so I figured I would give them a try. I went ahead and replaced the heater hoses and the oil cooler hoses as well as it all comes in a kit.

If an engine bay is pretty dirty I use Castrol Super Clean mixed 50/50. Wet engine area to remove the biggest amount of dirt and grime. Spray it with the cleaner and take a small brush and rag and just wipe away. Rinse it real well.

For maintaining it as I do mine I will just spray it off and then get a rag with a little Dawn soap on it and do a little wiping. When I am all finished I let it dry and use a product called Sonus Trim & Motor Kote. This stuff is amazing. You spray it on and then walk away. It looks like you just sprayed Armor All on it but this is very different. In about an hour it is all coated and leaves a great film. It is not sticky, does not attract more dirt or dust. The most amazing stuff I have used in regards to detailing. It's great for all the rubber and plastic in regards to drying out and such.

I don't go into the mud anymore as it's just not worth it. I make several trips out west to Utah and Colorado each year. The engine bay gets pretty dusty to say the least. A good rinse will just make the dirt wash away.

Resurrecting an old thread. I got this HPS hose kit, except the one without the heater hoses at the back of the engine bay. Where do the two smallest hoses go? I can’t find anything that matches the those hoses. The main radiator hoses are easy to identify and all I really needed to replace, but I’d hate to not use everything I bought.

Those look like the coolant lines coming off the throttle body - the smaller hose goes to the hard pipe for the heater hose and the longer one goes to the hard pipe for oil cooler.

Man those hoses look good. I was going to do the vacuum lines but I might spring for this sometime in the summer when the weather is nice.

Hey, are you the guy that has done a few DT header installs? I’ve got a set coming and I think I’m actually kind of local to you. Might be having second thoughts on doing it myself due to time constraints.
