installing aftermarket headunit

Anyone have any links to guide me to where to buy any hardware for mounting an aftermarket cd player? I know the stock one is a double din but the one I am installing is not.

And also, what gauge are you guys using for the speakers and subs? 12 gauge?

what year 4 runner?

12 guage is good for wire from the amp to the sub, but should not be used as power wire for the amp.

You use the brackets off the stock radio to mount the aftermarket one. The only other thing you need is a universal toyota pocket which is about $15 and a standard toyota harness which is another $15. I'd look for a place that sells metra, best kits + harnesses, or american international. Stay away from Scoshe... there kits are like puzzles to put together and their harnesses tend to be multiple harnesses all compiled into one kit which is a pain in the ass..

if you havent done the install yet, make sure to snap those small little "tabs" off the pocket on the "lip" that touches the radio (metra ones are like this) if you dont, some flip-down radios will rub against the radio bezel...just annoying if anything
