Installing CB radio in T4R, can you offer any advice?

I have a cobra CB radio that I would like to install in my 4Runner but I'm not sure who to take it to.

1.) Would it be silly to go to my service center and offer to buy a mechanic lunch to put it in for me? It's really simple I would think just running a power line to it.

2.) For something this simple should I just go to any car stereo shop?

3.) I am considering where to place the actual CB and I would appreciate some recommendations. I would like it accessible but not easily viewable by any passer by on the street or criminal that may think it's valuable and breaks my glass only to see it's a crappy CB radio.

I'd do some searches on the forum as many other guys have posted pics and locations of where you can place the CB depending on how often you plan on using it.

I put one in on my old 3rd Gen 4R and I had minimal skills at the time as far as installing that kind of stuff. I had a general idea of what to do and just learned as I went along. It really is much simpler than you think to do.

1. Whether or not you want it "hot" all the time or running through a switch

2. Get some extra wire and extend the power lines off the CB and run them behind the dash (on my 3rd gen this was possible) and up through the firewall to the battery (mine stayed hot all the time). I simply grounded it on a bolt in the engine bay.

That should cover it, depending on what you're trying to do and how complicated/where you place it.
