Installing Savage Rear Bumper w/Swingout - **Pictures!**

I haven hit anything yet. But then again I haven't went on any serious rock crawling trails. Dod few and some serious hill climbs and down the hill. It's more likley to hit the hitch reciever/hitch ball. This bumperr has good ground clearance. It is nice to have a spare. Trunk gets used up with other recovery gear.

All I do is hit rock trails, come off large drops and ledges. I found photos of folks sitting on the rear carrier. So been thinking of just doing the roof rack with tire instead. Dont need a bumper/carrier holding me back on the trail.

I really like that swing arm. I'm not at all impressed with my CBI swing arm after seeing this. Looks great!

Is the tire amount adjustable much for lowering or raising the tire? Is the angle of it set also? How bout a shot out from the inside to the back to see how much of the back window it covers.

kthxbye

The angle of the tire is adjustable.

I can also shift the tire support anywhere along the arm to adjust for back window view.

I don't remember if I can adjust the tire support up and down, I will have to check.

You can only move the tire so much over to the right. Because it will block the license plates. But the tire is adjustable. In, out, and the angle

So tire carrier folks. How often your tire gets caught up on obstacles? The trails I do I've notice lot of rigs tires hit coming off steep obstacles. I love the look but I'm about 100% usability of my mods and don't need something holding me back on the trail.

It's funny you say this, cause I had to re-build mine due to sliding off a trail and catching a 8" diameter branch overhanging. Granted this was the only time and area it's ever happened. I have been out since the re-design and haven't had a single problem. I love it and wouldn't change my swing out. I'm amazed at how little the bumpers you purchase are supported. My dad changed a lot of how it was supported. I think now that if something happen's it'll be the only thing that survives :)
