Installing Tail Light Guards

Trying to install the tail light guards and I can't seem to get the tail light out. Is there a write up on this? Looked in the general discussion DIY Post-Write ups and didn't see anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have some on my but the dealership put the on so i don't have a clue what they did. You should just go up there and see if they can put them on your 4runner for you.

If you look up the LED tail light swap you'll find info on how to get the lights off. It's pretty straightforward, just two bolts, but they're on the inside, you gotta pop the panel off on the interior and one bolt is kinda up high and a pain to get at, the other is pretty simple. It literally shouldn't take more than a half hour to do, provided your light guards are just bolt on.

There are 3 bolts if I remember correctly on the main taillight. One is up at the the top and the other two are easy to get to. After loosening those 3,mine was wedged in so I had to wiggle it out; pretty aggressively I might add. Once you get the taillight out you will see why-there is a long screw shaft that runs into your headlight, and that threaded shaft is surrounded by rubber. Good luck man, use some elbow grease
