instead of a projector retro ..i was thinking of doing this.....

something like this in the headlights. Follow the link below. its one of them round LED headlights that either go to a wrangler or a motorcycle. i wanted to get the one for the wrangler but those are 7" round which makes it too big. I tried to roughly measure the headlight lowbeam yesterday and its def smaller then 7". So the only other options are the 5" or 5.75 size LEDs headlights for the motorcycles. i hope that these motorcycle lights puts out just as much light as the wrangler lights do..

I think this might be a easier options for all those that are looking to upgrade the lights and if you are a DIYer. the hid projectors are nice but that does require alot more detialed work. Anyways what do you guys think ? yay or nay?

I used the Cree G8 led bulbs from The retro fit source for the low beams. There awesome! Retrofitted Baja Design Squadron Pros spots for high beams. And morimoto switch back halos.

I did it. I haven't taken any output shots. Those don't usually come out very good

Don't know if that was a full retro , or just angle eye install. With the lights apart, I would do a retro anyway, than adding some parts that don't improve the low beam at all.

Thx. I used led bulbs in the low beam. The cut off was so good I didn't see any reason to change them.

This claim is useless without pics!! are you using factory headlight/projector, or is this an aftermarket headlight?

I'm waiting on a mounting plate from TRS so I can mount the D2S 4.0's in the low beam. I have the racer edition spots for the high beams. How did you end up mounting the BD in the high beam location? Can you post some pics or show me how you did this? I'm in Oceanside.

The Baja Designs light in the housing is pretty slick, but I assume that's pretty much an off-road setup?

I can't imagine the beam pattern being friendly for on road use or do those lights have a tight focus to reduce glare?

Strictly offroad. I upgraded to a bi-xenon lowbeam, so I have hi/low function in one bulb. The BD light will blind people for sure.

Nothing custom. They're just releasing a retro-quick universal mounting plate for the d2s 4.0's. I've been hounding them about these for a few months and they finally let me place the order yesterday. Impatiently waiting for them to arrive.

South-O is correct. The Squadron Pro was mounted into the hi-beam location and is designed to ONLY be used Off-Road or without other traffic.
It would be similar to running your OEM High Beams with other traffic, but a lot more blinding.
