Instrument Lighting

My son just bought a 2003 and unlike my 2006, the instruments are not lit unless the lights are on. I remember looking at a 2003 when they were new and finding the instruments hard to read in the daytime. They must have fixed this on later models. My son says not a problem as he drives with lights on during the day but I wonder if there is a way to retrofit 2006 circuitry to 2003.

I think there was a TSB to fix the lighting issue in the 2003 Models. I'll see if I can pull it up.

When I got my '04, the lighted instuments were only in the Limited. I just got a new '07 Limited, and I think it's still true that it's the only version with lighted instruments. I could be wrong.

All models have the illuminated cluster. The Limited has the illuminated needles in addition to that.
