Finally got my DT's installed! Nice & quiet without the damn tick... tick... tick...
Jasonhewitt, My shop (general mechanic) said he would do them again as now he has experience (a real pain) but it'd probably be prohibitively expensive for you. Can I suggest searching out local exhaust shops.

SSt4r what would you think the local shop might charge? Also did you weld on the cats and how do you like them so far? I have to change mine out soon due to my horrible ticking sound and was wondering if it worth the little extra.

Jason, they are welded on. Like them great so far but only put one (1) mile on them so far. Literally picked up the 4runner tonight and am still at work so no miles yet. They were described as well designed for the space given, but due to that lack of space, the install is difficult. The installation here would e more that the purchase price so... I'd still suggest a dedicated exhaust shop for the work.

I'd figure on 10-12hr X $your local labor rate.
I would not recommend someone doing this DIY unless you are an experienced professional.
Thanks. The only reason I won't do it myself is I'm scared to death of breaking a bolt off in the head. That and it's so hard to get too. Ugh.
Tax returns this year are going to exhaust. Headers, dual exhaust with h-pipe, catalytic delete, URD cat simulator. Should sound beastly! :AK47:

yes - you would just need your exhaust shop to weld in a pipe between the headers and after the cat where you cut it off. Or just have them make a custom Y-pipe to weld to the headers

Jasonhewitt: I bought mine from URD shortly after them became available (about a year ago). So far I still have the factory Y-pipe. I do have a Dirty Deeds muffler and the factory tailpipe / resonator down stream. If anyone has a good option for a Y-pipe, let us know.
T101: The shop that did the install did the welding. Any good exhaust shop would as well. I don't think it would be practical to have them welded elsewhere as there is some cutting and dry fitting involved and they may have to go on and off a couple of times. Then they had to be tack welded in place, taken off, and welded properly.

For the non California people, can you get rid of the front two cats and only use the rear one?
You can get rid of all of them if you go to URD and order their cat simulator. It's $150.
