You can get rid of all of them if you go to URD and order their cat simulator. It's $150.

I do care for the environment so eliminating cats all together is a no go for me. Besides, the stinky exhaust is pretty bad w/o any cats!

It's far stinkier with the cats. You can get high flow cats and put them on too. Any way you go besides stock you will most likely get the code. The URD cat eliminator will keep the codes away.

In California you will fail the visual without cats... I don't suggest running no cats. Hallowing out the cats would be your best bet.

For those who have done this mod....

Did you have the cats welded on to the stock headers at whatever shop did the install, or did you have to take the DT's and stock headers to a metal working shop to have the two welded together?

I had them welded on elsewhere, but they got the orientation of one of the flanges wrong, so when the install happened, they cut the one off the Y pipe, turned it and welded it into place.

I got codes (420 C& 430) when installed. I bought the URD O2 simulator and no problem. Emission test passed too.

I hope not. I cant afford it now but I do have a ticking when its cold so I know I am going to need new ones at some point. really would prefer to put something beefier in.

Got a quote from a shop, 14 Hours to replace manifolds is what the book says. If it's less they will only charge me the actual hours. So no more than 1100, hopefully. Then they will build me a dual exhaust without cats, tucked up as high as possible to keep it safe offroad for 600. That includes the muffler.
