Will and Kyle are Toyota experts. The recently did a 2.5" lift/level on my 2006 4Runner with Bilstein shocks and OME springs. It looks and drives like a dream for less than $1000

I'm having some coilovers worked on by ADS.

It was lifted and either '99 or '00

Edit- I'm also really confused on why anyone would choose to live in Tucson

LOL for one we have ADS. and it is cooler and so on and so on :flame:

Ive lived here and in NE Scottsdale, I will stay in Tucson thank you very much:tongue1:
 
Tires.

Hey Arizona people, Im a noob with off roading pretty much but not with wrenching on vehicles. Any suggestions for budget friendly tires for our type of terrain that are also daily driver friendly?

I may get flamed but I ran discovery mud rovers for years and they are inexpensive and they do well on and off road. budget friendly for sure.

Maybe not so budget friendly.. But I'm running Cooper XT maxx and love them. Made for Australian outback.. Should do just fine here.
 
I was actually looking at Cooper Discoverer ATP's but those Cooper XT max tires aren't too bad price wise and much more aggressive. We don't do any difficult trails.....yet. Just starting out with this vehicle but I got my wife onboard with a Sonoran steel 1.2 when we can afford it.
 
I'm thinking about getting a set of KO2's on the "blank check" once the factory treads wear down enough to justify it to the wife. Costco has the $70 off a set of 4 every so often and you should be able to get out the door for a hair under 900 for a set of 4 LT E load range in 275/70R17. That's about the biggest tire you can put on the stock SR5 wheels (7 inch rims). I know some folks have 285s on the stock rims, but I'm pretty sure you lose warranty for mounting outside the specs... I just can't see dropping an additional 600-800 dollars on rims in addition to the tires.

You don't lose warranty unless they can prove that the damage was directly caused by your modification. Mounting a wider tire on a skinnier rim actually has the opposite effect. It's actually better because it's harder for the bead to pop.
 
My problem is finding a shop that will mount them. Costco won't do the 285 KO2s nor will Discount... I have time though. I only have around 15K miles on a 60K tire. It's gonna be a bit before I can justify replacing them.

2nd set of tires for OHV use? I am considering this so when the 4Runner is DD mileage doesn't suffer, and I dont wear out the off road tires. Could be a way around Costco and Discount. And there are plenty of Toyota rims for sale on Craigslist.
 
I'll be the first to admit that I'm too lazy to deal with two sets of tires. This 4Runner is my DD, so anything that I put on there is going to see a lot of city/highway use. Hence the reason I'm looking at something like the KO2s or possibly the Cooper S/T Maxx. Pricewise, the KO2s are in the lead...

I'm planning to head over to Saguaro Lake this Sunday, its a good place to get the tires dirty and challenge yourself without being obligated go take the hard way. Almost every trail has an easy, moderate and sometimes a harder route but.
 
Just saw this post for AZ Club. Did this ever get put together? We just got out 1st 4R and I'd be interested in joining the club.
