Interior Lighting Converted to LED (Many PICS)

Fo_SheeZy, you're truck is just awesome looking. I haven't done much to mine lately, saving for the rainy day... but when I saw you're latest mod of LED, I just can't resist :D

I haven't taken any pictures yet but it's basically the same as your except for the dome which is kinda expensive for me right now... and my wife wants to do the same to her mini :confused:

Also, I cracked (1) lens on the overhead console when putting back in, go figure...

What is the part called? Its the light you push in.

The map light.
 
glove box was tricky, i thought that you had to unscrew the entire glove box to get to it, but after about 10 minutes of picking at it with a screw driver the tiny capsule where the bulb is in popped out, putting that back in was even more fun!

If you have some small hands in theory you could try to do it without unscrewing it. You need a small straight blade screwdriver to release the tab on the cover of the light assembly, then that cover flips down and you could get the bulb out. Its EASIER to remove the box, but it can be done without doing so.

I used a small piece of duct tape between my fingers to pinch the bulb and help grip it so I could pull it out.



Is the glove box light sensitive to the outside lighting? Meaning the light only comes on when it's dark?

Not that I know of. You do need your headlights on though for it to turn on.

Oh... That's weird. And re****ed on the designers part. What if someone needed to get into the glove box but didn't want to turn the truck on? Good thing I have so many flashlights with me at all times. :D

Yea I noticed it on a buddy's '06 that I did this mod to. Wouldn't work until I had him turn the headlights on.

Mine on the other hand is just dead and I haven't had time to throw a meter on the harness to start tracing it out.
 
Almost forgot, here's what the blue LED's from Oznium look like during the day. I keep forgetting at night, but it's really ridiculous light output. Even during the day it makes my seats blue. I had to put my white LED's back into the doors because the dome lights are so bright, and so blue, that it made the blue door LEDs look green-ish.

And yes, you can see out of the windows even with double limo tint. :D (Although the camera made them seem lighter than they actually are).

I am pretty sure I DO NOT want to go with the domes from Oznium. My wife is already complaining about the map lights being too bright/blinding.

What particular bulb would blend well from V-Led for the domes?
 
Upgrade to visor with vanity lights

guys, my 05 does not have vanity lights in the visor, and I am sick of hearing my wife ***** about it. How much of an issue is it to upgrade (obvouclsy then with the leds), to new visors with the lights. Anyone recommend a kit, or should i junk yard it to find replacements?

Hey man, sorry I haven't been posting that much lately, try the bulb replacement guide on Sylvania, but if you go with a small LED bulb, it probably won't even be as bright as the stock bulb.
 
Ok thanks. But, I dont want it to be that bright. In fact my wife of course is complaining of the map lights and vanity lights being too bright. I havent even done the dome lights yet!!!! So, now I need to merely match the tone/color.

So what would you buy Fo_Sheezy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your link for the 74 bulb(glovebox) shows several options. Which is the correct bulb? I have an 07 SportsEdition.
