I just bought my new 4 runner last month. I noticed when I get out of it at night that there are no lights that light up over the driver head to light up the consol area. It is so dark, you cannot see a thing. Is that correct or is something broke on it where those map lights should light up when the door opens? Also is there a master switch in there anywhere that will let you turn on all the lights as you are riding down the road?

Thats one of my complaints with this vehicle. They "cheaped" out on so many things like making it bright inside the truck at night. the only 2 lights that go on are the ones in the front and trunk(you can set it to door)

if i get what u are saying as the "map lights" you are reffuring to the 2 button lights by the mirror... no they do not light up as the door opens and closes
but...
is your dome light set correctly? the light on the headlinner? yes there is an "on, Off and door setting, i think yours is set to off....
but im not sure if i read what u said right, i dont think its that dark at night
