So, this is the first vehicle I have owned that has a black interior.
How are you cleaning the interior? I have tried several supposedly lint free paper towels but they still leave lint on everything, its especially noticeable on the dash..

I use a dry swiffer on the interior. They work extremely well.

Swiffer and microfiber towels. Microfiber will leave a fuzz if brand new, so wash them a few times first.

First off - good decision on the black interior!!!!
I actually go to SAM's Club and buy the packs of white terry cloth towels as I go through a ton on all my vehicles. Works great for most thing in general.

Ya, Toyota offers so many choices for the interior on the TRD models it was a hard choice. Black interior, the black interior or the black interior...

I've admitiadly got a grey interior on my 2011 but the dash is black! One thing I use religiously is Plexus plastic cleaner for everything, save glass. I use it on my motorcycle paint and plastics, including cleaning bugs off my helmet. I can't recommend it enough. It is low/no gloss unlike most dash cleaners.

Armor All spray and a microfiber rag. Like Corey said use one that's been washed a few times.

I lived in the desert for a few years and it was a constant battle.

I have four vehicles so I just buy the gallon jugs and use a sprayer. They last a long time.

Use the same method that you would wash the exterior of your car with except with much smaller amount of soap. I'd wipe off all the dust and dirt then go over with some plain water to remove as much soap as possible. Sounds tedious but instead of moving dirt and dust around you're actually washing it away into a bucket of water.

Then apply some 303 aerospace to give it glare free protection.

I've been using this stuff. Smells like LEGIT new car chemical smells too which is a plus.

I use a damp micro fiber to clean up the interior and apply 303 a couple times a year. Looks great and isn't greasy or overly shiny. I also have a bottle of meguiars interior cleaner for stuff that the water and microfiber can't tackle.

Wet microfibre for ALL interior surfaces. Dry one to buff/wipe off moisture. I've also used lexol a couple times but I don't think it did much for the seats. Owner's manual specifically states damp cloth and dry one to buff.

Wipe the interior down with a wet microfiber now and then.

If the seats gets really dirty get a soft interior detailing brush, spray a water/woolite mixture (or the interior cleaner of your choice) on the bristles, scrub lightly and wipe off while wet since dirt will be suspended in the sudsy mixture and you don't want that to dry back onto the seats.

1. High quality microfiber is a must to eliminate the lint problem. Also remember that microfiber towels need to be washed with only other microfiber towels. I'd also use a specific wash made just for microfiber (I use Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash). For the towels, look into Microfiber Madness, The Rag Company, or Chemical Guys.

2. For the cargo area, consider Canvas Back liners. Once installed, you'll only have to vacuum and wipe down with a rag.

3. Use a water based cleaner for the trim area, I use 3D Interior Cleaner on all of the plastics (there are tons of great options, I'd check out some of the car detail forums). I'm still searching for a good Softex (Vinyl) cleaner for the seats, I'm leaning towards CarPro Leather & Vinyl right now.

4. On the actual carpets, I treated them with CarPro fabric. It's a hydrophobic coating that you spray on and let dry. Liquids will bead off if water touches it. This is secondary protection against all-weather floor liners (OEM, Husky, WeatherTech).

5. UV Protection: Aerospace 303.

6. For the cleaning itself: Vacuum, compressed air, vacuum again, then use your microfiber towel.
