Does anybody know how to remove dash panels and the panels around the controls on the doors? basically everything that's silver. I was thinking about doing mine in carbon but don't want to screw anything up trying to rip it apart. Can't really find anything on the search function. If you have pictures that would also be helpful.

Everything pulls off towards you- some take more force than others! Just clips hold the silver panels on. To take the entire dash, radio and gauge cluster out you only need a Phillips screwdriver. I can take the entire thing apart in about 5 mins by now :lmao:
Thanks Antman, that's what I needed to know. Is that the same for the silver on the stearing wheel? Just pull them off?

The steering wheel silver trim pieces........ There are two T30 Torx screws under 2 small covers on each side of the steering wheel that releases the airbag and horn.Your supposed to disconnect the battery so the airbag can't go off and that's what I do. If I remember right,the T30 Torx screws don't come out as they are encapsulated, they just loosen or tighten.Then you will see the bolts holding on the silver trim pieces after removing the airbag on the steering wheel. The silver trim pieces come up with the switches which you then have to unbolt.
As far as the silver pieces on the doors,I don't think it been discussed before and they are actually part of the inner door pull handles.The pull handles are a pain to get off and work on ,as there are alot of screws and permanent plastic rivets you have to drill off holding them on . Some of the screws are hidden under the door window seal so be warned there. Don't be prying on the window switches to get them out as they'll break and are very expensive.Guess how I know! Once I did it once it was 100 times easier on the other doors.
Note: This door pull handle is part of the door panel and not sold in a piece part level therefore if you fark it up you have to buy the whole door panel.They are VERY expensive!
You'll still have to tape the silver part off as it's part of the whole door pull handle. They taped them off and painted the silver part at the factory. I have 3 of mine wrapped in 3M black vinyl and one painted satin black.Can't tell the difference really but the odd shape made it hard to wrap.And the wrap is starting to get wrinkles in a couple of places after 1 year. So , my advice is to paint. Best way is to sand the silver paint off as it's black plastic underneath. That way if you get a scratch or nick in the black,only black will show thru....not noticeable silver.
ps...If you can, download the repair manual. If not ,you really need a local geek to help you download the Toyota factory repair manual that Nashman so painstakingly downloaded and graciously put up.Many thanks to him again! This stuff is all in there with pictures,tools,explanations and the whole 9 yards.
