haha im not sure, it seems like itd be easy, just buy someblue neons, install them above the petals, and same place by passenger seat
than install some underneath the front two seats so the passenger feet light up
than get one installed by my radio
im not a handy man , so ill do the buying as someone else puts in the lights

Neon lighting is easy as anything to install. Just run a cable from the battery to the lighting with a fuse (should be included) and a switch (should be included) somewhere in between. Or you can just hardwire them directly to any fuse in your car that turns on whenever you turn your lights on or just whenever you turn your car on depending on how you want them to act. Just make sure you get them running off of their own independent fuse, or know enough about the OEM fuse you're connecting to in order to make sure that it has sufficient power to keep from being overloaded. Where you put the neon lighting is up to you, but in my opinion less is most definitely more if you get my drift. (actually I prefer none, but when I was younger I liked it so I know what you're thinking). Just make sure you do a good clean job with the wiring and mounting. Use screws with good mounting points and lots of wire ties to keep anything from hanging down.
Oh, and those guages appear to be indiglo. Not sure if I'd bother with those, but if you have another 100-200 bucks to drop and really love the look, they sell kits for most cars that will change the backlighting to look like this. Most of them are also adjustable as to what color you want them to look like at any given time.

Those lights are probably not as bright as they seem, the camera exposure was probably set to a longer exposure. Try using single accent LEDs, they won't be as bright as a neon tube.
I hardwired all my LEDs and neons to my cigarette lighter beneath the center console and then to a switch.
My digi camera died, so I'll have to borrow my bro's camera and get some pics up soon.

Don't worry. It's just that neon in cars is considered by most people to be tacky, and some even consider it to be indicative of "rice", which is a description used to describe a car that has a bunch of tacky visual or audible modifications without anything done performance-wise.
Many people with this "rice" mindset almost seem to think that by putting spoilers, special paint, hood scoops, neon, and stickers on their car, that their car is somehow faster than stock, even though they've spent no time/money on performance modifications, or at best maybe just put in high perfomance fluids and maybe a cold air intake which will produce almost immeasurable gains that might at best make up for all of the extra dead weight tacked on to the car's appearance.
I agree that neon does not look very good in most car's interiors unless it's done in a very tasteful fashion such as behind a cutout in a custom sub/amp enclosure, or whatnot. But I also feel that more importantly, only you should decide what you like in terms of yoru car's looks. You should mod your car to make you happy, not others.

To be honest any lights inside the car would be a little helpful also. Espeacially by the buttons for the windows. I lost count of how many times people in my 4 runner, at night, could not find the window button to save their own lives. So the neons could be a little useful too. But, if that is what you want then do it. It is your 4-runner do what you want to it.

Too gaudy, IHMO. What I would worry the most about is glare. All that interior lighting may interfere with one's night vision and make it difficult to see as well outside the vehicle. I live in upstate NY, and outside the towns, the street lighting is non-existant in many areas. I have to turn down the dash lights as it is sometimes. But if that trips your trigger..............

ya im thinkin about just putting maybe two - 4 in my car, by the foot rests of the seats to give a nice glow at thier feet, nothin too much that would interfere with driving ( like the pics ) thsoe are just examples
