Interstate Battery

The interstate in my old 88 dodge daytona lasted 12 years and I drove 42 miles a day 5 and 6 days a week for work. Though the diehards in my wife's cummins lasted 10 years. But that was ten years ago. Don't know if the current crop of diehards would last the same.

I know this is an older thread, but this just came up with me today. I have an Interstate MTP-24F in my 2010 4 runner. The battery is 4 and a half years old. Today I stopped by a local interstate distributor with the idea of replacing my older one.. a gentleman that worked there asked to test the battery before replacing it.. when he pulled the cables off there was quite a bit of corrosion around the positive terminal but he cleaned them off and then tested the battery with a load on it. Tested at 650 cold crannking amps, over 750 cranking amps... he put it all back together and said he felt sure I could get another year or two out of it. Tell you the truth, I was surprised, I live in Louisiana and it's HOT HOT HOT down here and I figured the long summer months had taken it's toll, but apparently not. I thought about buying a Deka but I have Interstates in my 4 runner and in my lexus.. never ever a problem. I really like the MTP's.

this has been my experience with them as well. excellent batteries. 4-5 years would be early replacement in my experience. my last one went 2 years passed the warranty period. so long in fact, that they had replaced it with a different model. lol
the new one didn't have quite as good of specs, buts its still working very well. about 5 years in now I think.
