Greetings from North Idaho!
Just got my 2nd 4runner - first was a dud; '95 T4R with 145k on the 3VZ motor that cracked the crank shaft just after the lemon period was over.
At any rate, got myself a 2003 V6 SR5 T4R with 158k on it for less than $10k. It's mostly stock at this point. Got a few questions.
First: the ride feels a bit soft at times, such as in braking. I feel like my nose dives excessively. Corners are occasionally a little bouncy. Is this normal?
Second: I'm thinking about FJ wheels and the suspension swap. Will that be a firmer ride? Will it fix #1?
Third: it came with nearly brand new Hercules All-Tracs in 265/70R16. Anyone heard anything about these? I've read good reviews on the Terra Tracs, but seen nothing about my tires. They're more of a road tire, I think. But I'd like to know if they'll be at all decent for light mud/snow, etc.
There's a lot more I want to talk about, but for now that's probably sufficient. I'll get pics up soon. So far, I'm just in love with my truck - couldn't be happier.
