Can anyone recommend an inverter for a 4th-generation 4-Runner? I'm looking for something I can plug into the console cig-lighter and power up a laptop computer.

If all you're going to do is power a laptop that does not exceed 120 watts, then you're probably better off just buying a laptop power supply that plugs into the power port.

I recommend Targus adapters

I have a Targus power adapter for my notebook computer which works very well with the 4Runner 12v lighter socket.

Go to following Targus website and use their search engine to find the adapter that right for your notebook make & model, and desired usage (car/airplane or car/airplane/wall):

Once you know the adapter you want, do Google search for the best price on that item. May I also suggest searching techbargains.com which has some last minute or short term deals (example, it shows that Geeks.com has one model on sale for under $25)

The circuit in the 4Runner is limited to 120 watts, and the one in your link is 200 watts.

The circuit in the 4Runner is limited to 120 watts, and the one in your link is 200 watts.

Yup...I limit the connections to 120W or less. I like the fact that it has two plugs and a USB...and has an extended plug for a bit of placement flexibility.

I believe it's been standard in the Limited since 2003. Optional on Sport (and maybe SR5). But that's relying on memory...
