Invision headrest DVD Player --Need Help

Hey guys,

I got a nice surprise tonight. I just bought an '06 4runner Sport. My little girl was in the back seat playing around and pulled off the headrest cover. Underneath each one was an Invision DVD player~! The guy that I bought the truck from didn't even know that they were there. There is no remote or headphones with the system. I tried to turn on the DVD players tonight but nothing happened.

Does anyone have these and can you tell me is there anything "special" that you need to do to get these to power up? I really appreciate any help...

My little girl was so excited, I would love to get these working~~!

Hope you figure it out. Lucky bas**** having a find for that. I wonder if they're broke though. Why would one cover them over after the fact?

The covers are for UV protection and keep them nice.

There's wiring ran down the back of the seat. Your going to have to test every thing and make sure that they have power, and proper ground. Take it apart and take pics with questions.

EDIT: If you do get them working, don't waist your money on wireless head phones. I've messed with a lot of different brands and a $10 set of wired headphones are the best!

The covers are actually security covers. Keep the covers on when not in use so they don't draw attention. If a thief doesn't know they are there...

Under one of the seats or center console there should be a black box which is where you plug in the power to the screens, as well as the aux input (video game input). If there is power to the box, there will be a red LED light on the front of each unit when the vehicle is on.

You should be able to find a remote on Ebay. Headsets don't have to be Envision headsets. They use standard ir signals for audio. Just make sure it's a two-channel headset (each screen uses a different signal).

I can give you more info when I get home from my in-laws after Christmas.

Thanks for the help A/V1 ~!

I see that there are some wires running from each seat to the center console. I'm guessing that the black box will be found there. I'm gonna do a search to see how to remove the center console and see if I can do anything with these.

I really appreciate the help guys. Does anyone have the manuals that came with these that could be scanned into a PDF? I tried calling Invision last week but all I got was the answering machine - maybe they are just closed for the holiday? Don't know..

Merry Christmas everyone~!!
