The fact is;
All the top phones are GREAT! It is just a matter of personal preference.

Negatives of iPhones:
1. Navigation...so far, i am not impress with the new navigation, at least on my 4S. But Apple is working hard on this according to reports.
2. Cannot remove certain Apple apps without jailbreaking, e.g. stock app, Newsstand app, and Passbook. But, i guess that this is still better than junk apps that carriers impose on other handsets.
3. I have to rely on my BT widget to turn on and off BT quickly. (The widget was an illegal app that i got before it was banned from the app store.)
4. I wish that you can do full screen in upright position, not just portrait mode.
5. I wish that there is a dedicated refresh button rather than having to scroll to the top to refresh...thus, reading forums would be easier since i can refresh anywhere on the page. (yes, i know about hitting the top bar to get to the top quickly.)
6. Lightning adaptor as noted by Koz et al. (But, at the same time, i know why it is necessary and not just a nickel & dime thing.)
Yup, i am still waiting for UPS guy to deliver my phone.
mine gets here tomorrow also, but the wife decided she wanted one also, 4 days after pre-order release. Verizon said they were 3 weeks delayed, so I am going to the verizon store at 6:30 tomorrow to sit there for 1.5 hours lol. oh well, should be an experience. had one of the reps in the store offer to save one for me for 100 bucks... haha
I just got my Otterbox Defender yesterday (Thursday). Wow, Otterbox really knock it out this time...fabulous design improvement and the rubber around it is first class! The screen protector is also the crystal clear type i believe...won't know until i put the new iPhone in.
Jail breaking would fix all your complaints minus the maps.
Koz, please keep your (lack of) iPhone knowledge to yourself.
No jail breaking because I find the stock one just fine. I want the security of iOS vs jailbroken or Android. Remember, I am paranoid!![]()
I am very cautious and paranoid...terrible combination for jailbreaking and Android!![]()
you can keep the security even after jailbreaking.. key is to change the user name an password of the OS so after market softwares can't access your file systems.. but I'll likely wait for the mfg's one year warranty to end before I hack into my new one. I'll have my 4 to play with still and i can use the proxy from the iphone 5 to get siri on my 4 for free :keyboard:
I've had almost every iphone and they've all at one point been jailbroken. I could live without it but I find it very very useful. Sure it voids the warranty, blah blah blah... You can always restore it. I've never had any significant problems.
What kind of email app forgets the email address of people you have exchanged hundreds of emails with, just because none of those emails were in the last few sent or received.
WHAT A JOKE!

The iphone is now on its sixth generation of Apple’s mobile software and you still can’t drill down in the inbox view so it only displays unread emails. You also still can’t mark an email as read without opening it or navigate to the sent items without backing out to the main account list, scrolling down past the inboxes and navigating through the main folders.
