Do you have JB?

You wrote that JB fixes saturation. Tell me Koz...where does it say that JB address saturation??? I have not heard this.

It is so funny to read Koz...he will just look the other way even when facts come straight at him! He is so blinded and such a fanboy that there is no thought process in what he reads. Blind enthusiasm! Facts are facts Koz...why are you so damn blind?! Wow.

Unanswered questions. Last one I promise!! :D

This thread is ridiculous.. The G3 and the iPhone 5 are both great phones and both connect with a different group of people. I'd be happy to afford either one. So, remember when you had these... Quit your b!tching

This thread is about iPhone 5. Not sure why Koz is even here.

EDIT: again, this is a discussion forum for debates etc..

What's the matter, you can't threaten to ban me or delete my posts.

:sobbing: Why is he even here? :sadwave:

I know this may be a little hard for some to understand but my intention was to bring up the fact that there is a; as good or better phone already available, that is not restricted, for less money and has better/more features.

Koz

Can't stop responding to your BS, Koz! You sound like a politician. You sound so polite now. Let's take a trip back into memory lane.

This is your FIRST post in this thread:
Sorry Gents, the i5 is beat before it even comes out! The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best phone on the market (including the i5). It's got a bigger/better display (4” LCD vs 4.8” AMOLED) and a faster processor. The deal breaker for me is you can not simply replace the battery (also the S3 battery has more capacity – 8 hrs vs 11 hrs), the i5 doesn't have a microSD slot and the connecting cable is new and proprietary (you must use an adaptor for any accessories). The S3 can use a micro HDMI cable to attach to any TV. Apple also forgot about the future with no near-field communication (NFC) - the ability share content across phones and pay for purchases.

The i5 is a day late and a dollar SHORT!

Koz

This reeks of someone who has no idea what he/she is talking about! Not a damn clue. Most of what your have written is just plain false. No other way to say it. I would bet that if you posted that crap on Android forum, they will laugh at you! No one is THAT delusional and misinformed!! In fact, i DARE YOU to post that on Android Central! You will be laughed at more than here! :D

There is only ONE reason why Google devices don't have memory cards. They want you to use their online memory, period!

Who in their right mind would want to be limited to embedded memory, lol -YOU!

BTW - I have NEVER had a problem with any memory card or lost any data, EVER!

Koz

This is classic delusional disorder. Android Central (and GOOGLE), not Apple nor me, has already dismissed your conspiracy theory. Does Koz change his mind? Oh no, Android Central and Google must be on Apple's payroll! (This is his common argument for anything that doesn't agree with him.)

For those who don't want to search...here is Android Central explanation: http://www.androidcentral.com/why-nexus-devices-have-no-sd-card

Again, this is from GOOGLE/ANDROID and Android Central. Koz is still in his own little world....

As far as saturation this has been addressed in JB.
Koz

I am still waiting for your source on this claim. Yes, i am calling you out to back up what you write. For sure, someone in the know like Koz would back up his claims.

BTW, do you have Jellybean yet? It's been out since July dude! What's taking so long??!!

What's wrong with the idiots who get mad at Thai for backing up his claims with sources?

That's what smart people do. Dumbasses talk and talk, but can't back their stuff up.

Thai is always right because he doesn't mindlessly spew **** out of his mouth! Not like the rest of you fools.

Such an entertaining thread. Thanks Thai, wish we had more folks like you. The world might actually be a better place with that kind of intelligence.

Ok, i just did an informal testing of two cases vs. naked. I have two cases:

1. Otterbox Defender (black): iPhone 5 case

OK, back on topic, i am posting an update.

The new Otterbox Defender holster for iPhone 5 has a defective design. :cry2: Today, as i was bending down to pick stuff from the floor, my Otterbox + holster fell out! The whole thing just dropped to the ground. I then started to examine things more closely. I wear my Otterbox on my belt, which is a standard issue belt. It is NOT the thick kind. In Otterbox's attempt to keep things as thin as possible, they streamlined the belt clip, which is good. BUT, it also means that it now no longer fits on the belt securely! With the holster (and case) on my belt, i am able to use (minimal) upward force to pull the whole thing off my belt. Not much resistance. WTF?! Now, if you guys have a thick belt, then forget it!

So, when i knelt down, my thigh pushed the holster and case upward...and off it goes.

I called Otterbox. The advisor took a long time with her supervisor...probably testing my theory out. She came back and offer me $5 refund. Since i "modified" the case (poke out the screen protector and use my own on my iPhone), they don't want it back and can't give me anymore than $5. :cry2: Oh well.

So, this is a warning for those who is interested in the Defender. Now, if you don't use the holster, then this is a non-issue.

Ok, continuing on with my perfect case/holster search, i just bought Platinum case for iPhone 5 with kickstand from Best Buy for $35. This is the same as Seidio Surface with kickstand plus holster: SEIDIO | SURFACE Case with Metal Kickstand for Apple iPhone 5

The difference is that this is under Best Buy brand (Platinum) and cost A LOT less than Seidio! Seidio made the case & holster (it's on the paperwork included in packaging)...but just under Platinum name. I bought BLACK. For $35, you get a basic hard plastic slider case and holster. If you bought this from Seidio, then you would have to pay $35 case + $30 holster.

Of course, the first thing i did was do my testing of cell signal in my closet. Surprisingly, this hard plastic case did wonderful! It matched my Otterbox! :thumb3: So, it has good cell signal and is fairly protective (for a hard plastic case), but certainly not as much as Otterbox.

The holster is nice. It can easily accomodate thick belts. :) The case is hard plastic but has a soft-touch (but anti-static) coating on it to prevent slipping from your hand. The kickstand is pretty sweet BTW. The slider design is pretty tight. In fact, once on, i am having a hard time getting the case to come off! :D So, this is not a case for those who want quick on and off case.

Negatives? I wish that the camera hole was a bit bigger...due to iPhone camera sensor being light hungry (supposedly with the 4S, not sure about 5). The good with this is that you don't see the aluminum back of the iPhone exposed because the bottom edge of the camera hole is where the aluminum ends and glass panel begins.

So, as of right now, i have this Platinum case + Zagg Invisibleshield HD on my iPhone 5.

Here is more battery testing on the iPhone 5: IPhone 5 review: Torture testing the battery - Sep. 26, 2012

This is from CNN:

"By those metrics, the iPhone 5 is terrific -- but not by a huge margin. In the Web-radio test, it lasted 7 hours and 44 minutes; in the second, its onscreen battery gauge read 85% after 24 hours idling away. Each figure beats any Android phone I've tested on an LTE signal, although some 3G models have done better."

Engadget had this to say:

"Naturally, we'd be telling just half the story if we only talked performance. There's an important question that's left: what kind of battery life can you expect? Power is nothing without longevity and, shockingly, the iPhone 5 copes amazingly well. In a day of heavy usage with LTE, GPS and WiFi all enabled, we managed 14 hours and 18 minutes before the phone succumbed to the elements.

On our standard battery rundown test, in which we loop a video with LTE and WiFi enabled and social accounts pinging at regular intervals, the iPhone 5 managed a hugely impressive 11 hours and 15 minutes. That's just 10 minutes shy of the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx."

I'm leaving mine nekid!

Unless apple offers bumpers again. Loving the phone so far. Super fast and the fit/finish is unrivaled.

For those with older iPhones, these tests should make you feel comfortable with upgrading to the latest iOS: Lab Tests: iOS 6 and iOS 5 performance comparison - Macworld Australia

Of course, you will have to put up with Apple maps...but speed wise, you're OK.

And here is how the iPhone 5 compares to above: Lab Tests: iPhone 5 leaves old iPhones in the dust - Macworld Australia

And here is a quick review of iPhone 3GS with iOS6: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/09/25/ios-6-on-iphone-3gs-final-impressions-and-performance/

I believe that iPhone 3GS came out in 2009...and still being supported till this day! :)

got my 5 up an running yesterday love it!!! super fast. I haven't plugged it in the wall other than what little the at&t lady had it plugged in for at the store battery is still at 25% turned in on 27 hours ago facebook'd texted, watched some you tube videos and talked to a few friends.

apple maps: using it for driving directions it works great.. make a wrong turn it quickly switches to a new rout. only down side i've found is you can't just type the name of a place in you have to have the actual address. I've put a app icon to google maps on the springboard so i can use that to find the address of a place im searching for then just copy an paste the address.. little frustrating but im hopeful apple will certainly improve on this.

passbook: re****ed so far.. I've got all the apps that link into it and even have passes and tickets to places but the app itself isnt doing anything as far as putting them all in one place. I've googled for "repairs" but to no success.

taking video with the new camera along with ios6 is awesome it steadies the shot so you don't get that shaky video syndrome its been great for taking video off-road while trying to walk on crazy uneven terrain.

only negatives to speak of at this time are: apple didnt provide extra usb to lighting connector cords to distributors so i have to carry the only one i have around until new shipments come in. Typically I'll have a charge cord at the office, a car charger then one at home. Now i just have one cord i have to use in all the places. There's no car charger available yet so i have to use a cigarette port to usb adapter to charge in the car. And I'm going to slam otter box on there new case's The front plastic cover has an air gap between the screen and the plastic so every time you type or use the phone you have to press much firmer to push the plastic down to the screen to make heat contact. I'll likely purchase a lifeproof case when there available, but with working in a machine shop i needed something to get me by till a more sealed case is available. Also at at&t they only had one screen protector selection "military grade" it places a plastic film front and back which i thought was great, however one cover set (which is just a front and back film) is 30 bucks.. so if you mess up putting it on there goes 30 bucks..

all in all once time goes by and manufacturers offer more accessories and apple gets on the ball with there power cords and adapters and the lifeproof case comes out I really won't have a thing to complain about. My coverage with at&t even got better after getting on there LTE network I'm making calls in places i used to never have one single bar.

super happy with my new Iphone5!!!

My local Apple store has a ton of Lightning USB cables in stock. But, no adaptor. :( I have ordered one Adaptor, but it won't come till mid-late October.

For my screen protector, i went to my local mall and let Zagg kiosh do it. I have had the worst luck in installing the wet protectors! The mall Zagg folks always do a great job, at least, the folks by me.

Do you have a protector AND Otterbox too? For me, i have always poked the Otterbox protector out and use my own.

For me, Apple maps has been unspectacular so far...average at best. Am i the only one who does not like the color scheme on it? Too vanilla...not enough contrast! I still have my Garmin app as backup on my phone.

You have to resort to name calling to make your point? You don't have to be offensive (like Thai) to make your point!

I can scour the internet (just like Thai) and find many articles that will support anything that is said whether it is accurate or not. You call it backing up claims, I call it finding partial info with the results that support your argument. Let me give you an example;

Let’s take the (so called) test Thai posted. What exactly was tested; an i5 and a GS3, no it was a new i5 and a GS3 with a dated OS (ice cream). You do know that the new OS (jelly bean) will make a HUGE difference in the way power is used. Let’s look at the test itself; what was the criteria used to determine how much power was used? It ONLY measured the power used while browsing the net. Do you think a cell phone only uses power to browse the net? You don’t think there could be a different results if I could find a test with different criteria. You don’t think the results of any kind of test could be predetermined by the criteria of the test?

You actually believe that the iphone is still the innovator in new phone technology?

Are you such a sheep that you actually believe that Thai is always right?

Again, only when the GS3 gets jelly bean and is in a head to head comparison, we will see which is better. I know this is hard for isheep to except the FACT that there are other phones out there that just as good and may even be better!

Koz, your post is full of flaws! Let's begin.

1. You have NOT found any info to back up any of your claims...nada from any respectable source. I have. ALL MY SOURCES are legitimate, well-known, and independent. No blogs. That should end discussion right there. You posted blogs from some unknown guy talking about iPhones BEFORE it was even release...so, it was mere speculation. That is just plain stupid!

2. Does your GS3 have Jellybean? I have asked repeatedly and you have looked the other way. I know why...IT IS BECAUSE NO GS3 in the USA has JB. None. Actually, only Polland GS3 have JB...and that GS3 uses a whole different processor than what you have.

Repeat, your GS3 has a dual core S4 processor. No matter what software acceleration JB has, your processor is LIMITED in performance because it has limitations of A9 core design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is FACT. No way around this. You can dream all you want Koz...but you are an idiot if you don't see what EXPERTS in the field have said.

Just like your display argument...DisplayMate is well-known in its field for giving detail evaluation of displays.

So, the battery comparo mentioned is 100% LEGIT. Because it compares the CURRENT iPhone 5 to the CURRENT Galaxy S3. Fair fight. Your GS3 won't get JB until October, if not even later! By that time, Apple probably is already on a later version of iOS 6! Hell, just imagine what battery life i would have with iOS 7 or even 10...because who knows when you will get JB!! :D Get it?!

As far as saturation this has been addressed in JB.
Koz

3. Where does JB improve your display?? It does not. It just re-adjust brightness setting...that's it! You are full of sh!t when you claim that JB improves QUALITY of the screen, e.g. saturation. You don't know jack, yet still talk...it only proves your TOTAL UTTER IGNORANCE.

4. Browsing the net is very intensive on the battery!! Making phone calls or texting do NOT eat up battery as much as net browsing! WTF are you talking about?! The test above is for the WORST CASE...and it proves iPhone's tiny battery with iOS is excellent.

From the CNN article: "To get a worst-case estimate, I set the Pandora (P) app to play Web radio nonstop, then disable the phone screen's auto-lock option to keep the display lit. For a best-case data point, I'll leave the phone on a desk with the screen off, mobile broadband active and Bluetooth and WiFi powered up but not linked to anything; 24 hours later, I'll check its battery status. I don't look at talk time, because we increasingly use smartphones for things other than calling."

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT Koz. You need to get your head out of your arse and see the facts given.
