Am I the only one that has issues with the USB port not always recognizing my iPhone 7plus. Sometimes it recognizes the phone and other ties it won't. Most of the time it won't however.

Mine never charged my phone. I got a cigarette lighter plug and called it good.

Yeah, the stock unit doesn't put out a lot of power. If you've got the screen on and GPS running it does good to just maintain. I really wish there was a power injector adapter.

Yes. I've used multiple apple plugs and cables. If I switch over to the cigarette lighter it will charge and you get the lightning bolt symbol. The USB. Is intermittent. It works it doesn't work. I can turn the head unit off and it may recognize it or shut the truck off and then it will work but it's so inconsistent. And yes brand new cable that came with the iPhone 7. It's quite annoying.

I would just do this and use aux cables instead.

I'm not having that problem, but an issue I AM having is not receiving alerts on the radio when my iPhone 7 Plus is connect via Bluetooth.

You guys having the same issue ??

It's a compatibility issue plain and simple, Apple doesn't play well with others and Toyota is not as quick on their updates.

It might be a while until a dealer side update for the headunit OS is released. Additionally I wouldn't get focused on certain features, I've seen them be dropped for certain Apple products when they update; I'm guessing because Apple doesn't play well with others and so they couldn't code it.

annoying my iPhone is my main source of music and to run it through bluetooth the volume is just so low for some odd reason and the quality drops a lot.

My iPhone 7 (not the Plus) works fine when connected via the USB port (2013 TE). No problems whatsoever when playing music. I do have the latest Entune update installed.

Didn't work with my iPhone 6S Plus either since it launched. It's been an issue for a while now. I just use Bluetooth and charge the phone with the separate power outlet next to the USB/AUX ports.

I read somewhere that people use a USB thumb drive to run their music.. never done it myself though. Could be a solution to consider?

Yeah, I don't know about Apple at fault, maybe bluetooth but not USB.

I pulled the stock nav out right away in my truck with a Kenwood. Not matter what iPhone is plugged in or iOS version it keeps on playing. I have a Pioneer in my other vehicle also and never listen to AM/FM or CD, iPhone only.
Every once and a while I may have to unplug/reconnect to get it to recognize, but not very often.

its intermittent
it works then it doesn't
it might recognize it if i either or shut the head unit or restart the phone.
its so annoying. i just like the convenience of using my iPhone 7 plus on my 4runner

Well went to get the truck serviced. The dealer said they updated the head unit software. We will see if this helps. Anyone know of a recent update for the head units?

As far as Bluetooth are you sure the volume is turned up on your phone? No reason Bluetooth audio shouldn't be working.

Bluetooth always worked it was the hookup and charging to the USB cable. So far it's worked whatever update they did today but we shall see. I just prefer it through the USB for charging and controls.

I have a 15 Limited and a 7+ ... no issues with Bluetooth at all. I don't prefer the USB input as it doesn't let me keep my cables nice and tidy. Besides, I often have my phone in the iOttie mount on the glass.

Additionally, I have control of my iPhone with the steering controls, if that is what you mean?

There was a recent Entune update, but I have not had any issues with my 7+ in the month or so that I have had it.
