iPhone mount

I'm wondering if anyone has come up with good options for mounting an iPhone somewhere on the dash. I use it to play music through my head unit, talk hands free, etc. I would like to know if any of you guys have a mount to recommend and how you installed it. I would prefer not to mount it to the windshield and I need to find something that the phone will mount in without taking the case off.
Thanks.

interested also for recommendations.

I use a proclip - it is alright. Not as great as the one for the tacos but works well with my iPhone 4 and a bumper. They make a bunch of different options. Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic.

I just used the otter box plastic hip clip and attached it to a piece of 1/8" steel plat bent it up nice painte it then screwed it to the dash. The metal strip is screwed in to the gap near the radio, just open the glove box to access the 3 screws that hold it in place. I've traveled down this 20 mile wash board road countless times and no problems at all with the setup. Best of all I have about $1.50 in the whole setup since the hip clip came with the otterbox case and I never use it.

iphone mod

It sounds like someone needs to start a mod using the old style (coffee in your lap, on the stereo, and everywhere but your mouth) cup holder. I have a 97 and will check the dimensions, but an iphone could be hidden in the tray. I still have mine as i haven't found a deal on a console. Plus, a boiling cup of coffee in your lap wakes you up without the caffine jitters.

I lucked out and found a used VSM (vehicle specific mount) for a 3rd gen 4runner (I believe they are discontinued), it mounts on the screws that hold the stereo in the dash, and is bent to match the countours of the dash so you can put the dash bezel back in and the mount comes out the passenger side, then you buy an adapter for the device you want to mount on it. As I'm RHD, I had to bend the mount so it was angled at me instead of the passenger, and I still need to find an adapter that will work with my Iphone4 with a case on it. I haven't gotten around to installing yet.

Here's a link to one for a Tacoma, MAY work for a 3rd gen 4runner as well, maybe it's what I have, no idea, lol. Looks like it should work very nicely though.
