iPod adapter for 2000 limited?

I did a search but didn't come up with anything. Has anyone looked for, found, or installed an iPod adapter in a 3rd gen? I have one in my truck and I had one in the car I sold to buy the 4runner. They typically plug into the CD changer port on the back of the factory radio, if there is one, and allow playing an iPod through the factory sound system and also keeps the iPod charged. My T4R Ltd. has the "Premium 3-in-1 ETC/CASS/CD with 6 speakers and pwr diversity antenna" system in it. Just wondering if there is a company out there that makes one that will fit?

Is the factory radio hard to get out and get access to the back of it? Anyone know if the system I have has a port for optional CD changer?

Just get a new deck, for >$250 you can get an aftermarket deck that supports your iphone, and has bluetooth with a mic, will play MP3's off a USB thumbdrive or SD card, and more.

Took me about 8 minutes to remove and install my blitz kit. Mind you I have installed a few in tacomas and other 4runners but if you take your time, you end up with a factory deck with iphone input. I have an iphone 4 with iOS5 and it works fine.

Picked up one of these at SEMA this year for the g/fs Honda. Didn't end up working with her car because of her in dash changer, but when we tested it in a buddies car, it worked great, both with his iPOD and her iPHONE 4gs or whatever the newest one is.

Personally I agree with Ian's thought process of replacing the deck. But then I am more of an audiophile than the average person as well. For someone that isn't, I can see a lot of benefit to keeping stock for simplicity of use and anti theft.

I'm somewhat of an audiophile myself but this is my daughter's car. I don't mind replacing the factory head unit as long as I can find one that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the space left where the factory radio was. I'll go check out crutchfield.

I will later today. Not much to it, just the iphone cable coming out from the interior trim. I have a pro-clip as well which I highly recommend.

I used an adapter that plugged into the changer port on my factory radio. It had RCA jacks on it so I used an adapter cable, RCA to mini headphone, It didn't charge.

It had a couple of issues. Low output and once in a great while the radio would lose the adapter.

I just spent $200 on a new Sony HU that has a USB input, mini input and BlueTooth input. It also has BlueTooth phone connect.

I don't know why I waited so long to do it the right way. And the new HU sounds so much better than the stocker.

I do have that adapter I'll sell you, cheap.

Thanks, but no thanks. I want something that allows control thru the head unit while the ipod is stowed away. I don't want my daughter looking down at an ipod while she is driving. Also want something that will keep it charged.
