ipod in 2006

just hooked my ipod up through auxiliary port in my 06 sport....the sound quality is absolutely horrendous and only mono, not stereo! HELP!

Do you have the JBL stereo? I have my Siruis and my Creative Zen Micro hooked up through my aux port through a splitter and they both sound great. Maybe try a different cord.

Try finding a cable that plugs into the dock connector instead of in the headphone jack. I used to have my iPod running into my home stereo with a headphone jack, but I got a new cable to run it from the dock connector & it made a whole world of difference.

The cord you are using to plug it into the Aux port, does it have one colored ring around the tip or 2?

Two colored rings means stereo, 1 ring means mono. Head down to your local Radioshack and pick up a male to male stereo cord for about $4. The cord may be the problem.

If that's not it, just be sure that it's plugged in all the way maybe?

Thanks for the tip...i think it's a mono cable! I have the JBL system...but it needs a new amp and speakers for sure, the sound is not clean at all because it's underpowered.
