iPod Integration Kits???

I purchased XM radio for my 4runner a year ago. We already had 3 radios. If you are a subscriber you know the horrible things that happened last week. I don't like sirius...and the DJs talking over the music...nor the thin audio I get on the JBL system. Today the DJ starts talking about who is suing Justin Timberlake...I was ticked...so I picked up my cell and called to cancel on my lunch hour. I paid for XM radio music...not the freaking national enquirer! Ok ... no offense to those people who like sirius....but I personally think it s*cks! Ok now I'm done venting/whining

I want to add an iPod integration kit to the factory NAV. I am aware that there are some aftermarket kits that plug directly into the satellite ports that provide full control over the ipod while displaying the info on the NAV screen. But since I haven't ever really looked into it I thought I would ask on here who can recommend which models work with the built in NAV on the 2007.

Anyone out there have the factory nav and has installed an ipod integration kit into the vehicle (maybe on the sat port?)

I can't help you out, but I feel your pain. I loved XM and hate the new sirius XM. Huge downgrade IMHO. :bash:

I have a 2008 T4R with the nav and I use a Dice Electronics iPod interface. Here's the link: Dice Toyota Interface

I've had good luck with the Dice interface. It charges the iPod and sounds much better than the AUX connector. I don't control the iPod from the nav unit, I have it set to control the iPod from the iPod. It's a bit of work to install. It took about an hour total and you'll need to remove the center console and the center dash covers, etc... here are instructions on removing the stereo: Removing head unit from T4R

There are other iPod interfaces and I'm sure other folks will add their experience.

Question: You say that you control the ipod from the ipod itself...from the way you stated this, it sounds like this device lets you control the ipod through the NAV as well as the steering wheel? (if you set it that way?)

Nevermind the question... I downloaded the instruction manual and it seems to allow for a plethora of options

I think this is exactly what I was looking for.

Hey I have another question for you. I was looking over their site. They have the option to install HD radio. Their HD Radio kit appears to support the iPod connection. Do you (or anyone else) have their HD+iPOD kit installed? I am curious because if I am ripping stuff apart anyway might be nice to have it all done at once. Then again, I found they are located in Lakewood which is close enough to where I live that (if they do the install) I could drop it off.

No, I haven't installed the HD Radio option. I'm sure someone will chime in soon.
