ipod mount

Hey guys, I have an 06 sport which as you know comes with an AUX input.

I have a 30gb Ipod, and i'm looking for a good place to mount it. Do any of you know any good mounting hardware to use? Or have any of you done this before?

I was thinking velcro for spot 1 in the picture but the problem is that if i put it there, it will be angled down (since that is the slope of the panel).

Spot 2, the ipod is pretty far away...

This is NOT my interior and I don't have a nav.

I use this mount from ebay. When I had the 4r I plugged it into the ash tray outlet and it worked awesome. It was slick because the ipod was right at your fingertips. You could also mount a 12v adapter in your #1 spot and plug this into it.
