iPod nano USB and Cliq XT BT Audio questions

1. Ipod nano works fine using USB in glove box, except that when I scroll through the songs on the Nav screen, it automatically selects the song at the top of the list that I am scrolling through. I want to be able to simply search through the ipod's songs without it changing what song is playing until I decide to TELL it to play it. Quick fix on this? Anybody else have this issue?
2. Wife's Cliq XT smart phone has BT Audio, but songs won't come up on screen while using BT Audio connection. Anybody else have this issue? I did put her songs on her phone using a computer...perhaps they are in wrong folder on her phone? If anybody else has this phone, it would be helpful to know if theirs is working fine.
3. Tried hooking the Cliq XT via USB cable and the Nav/stereo system doesn't even acknowledge that anything is hooked up. Is the USB only for iPods???

Well, mine does the same thing. It plays the song the scroll stops on, very annoying. Has a firmware fix for stuff like this every happened before? It seems to be easier to search based on artist or genre, shortens the list.

I use the nano in the glove and have my iPhone hooked up via Bluetooth also. So if I want to hear a specific tune, I dial it up on the phone. Or let the passenger play DJ with it, seems to work well. As far as seeing what's playing on the head unit with Bluetooth, never looked, so I'll see.

I don't know about the Cliq, maybe someone can help who has one.

The 4Runner radio doesn't have the capability to show the track and artist on the head unit if connected via bluetooth. Some droid phones will allow you to use all the steering wheel buttons (volume, track, and i think voice command). As of right now, iphone iOS 4.0 does not have the capability. Supposedly iOS 4.1 beta does. But, for bluetooth, it is pretty much just sending the music over to the head unit. You would use the phone to navigate the songs and see what is playing.

As far as the top song playing, it isn't a "defect". It is just a poor programming decision that Toyota made. They should have made it where you push the button in to select the song once you found it. I would think that a fix is being developed considering that most people don't like that function and it is common across Toyota ipod capable headunits.
