Ok... so I tried searching but ran into a bunch of dead ends. Maybe you guys could please help me!

Here is what I have:
2005 T4R SE V8 Stock Sound System with '05 Scion HU (the one that has one disk, changes colors, AUX/SAT input, two knobs on the outside), Bazooka Tube.

Here is what I want:
iPod use. Either a final solution to the "missing cable" that connects the HU to the Scion AUX input that no was able to find last year OR a iPod controller that charges iPod, keeps steering wheel control with direct control of iPod (no stupid "playlists for car only"), display of iPod text on HU display (not a priority, but would be nice), and something hope fully not too expensive.

I've read about PIE and ICE but am still kinda confused. HELP!!! Thanks. :confused:

I can personally vouch for VAIS and say that their product is legit and works flawlessly. It is one of the few aux in type devices that I've installed that every time has been a breeze and works great. I've put in around 4 of them and total at my shop around 10-12, all with the same results.

That unit actually IS the Soundlinq sli. Click on the image and you can see that it is the unit made by vaistech. :)

I've been happy with mine so far. It does only use playlists when being controlled by the steering wheel and displaying text on screen. If you put it in simple mode, you can control via iPod controls but lose ability to control via steering wheel.

Only issue in my 06 Limited w/nav is that the folder view is not available which forces you to cycle through playlists numerically rather than being able to jump directly to another playlist.

Can any owners or others with knowledge of the functionality of the units tell me which is the more functional unit between the Soundlinq SLI and the DICE unit?

I am looking at a 07 Limited w/Nav if that factors in. I would like to be able to control the iPod through the steering wheel or Nav screen.

It looks like the Lockpick solution is too problematic. Is this true?

I have asked this question in other threads ... but in search of my iPod interface holy grail -

Do any of these units allow direct control of iPod albums/artists without playlists?

It appears DICE has some capacity to do this, has anyone been able to confirm this for DICE or have another unit which can do this?

From what I can tell Vais soundlinq doesn't do this.

I want an ipod solution that lets me plug in my XM and lets me pick through Albums, Artist etc on the nav headunit. Do any yet?

So no, this is not hwat I am looking for. With 5500 songs on my ipod playlists are usless to me. I need to be able to scrol through, on the radio, by artist and album. I thought one of these ipod integrations did this. Hmmm.
 
Here you go then... Fully compatible with factory navigation and your radio must have a "SAT" button on it but you can't have factory satellite installed.

But it doesn't give you an AUX in to run your xm. You're gonna be hard pressed to find something that gives you full functionality of IPOD using the headunit AND full functional satellite radio with the head unit.

Actually I just got an email response from Peripheral Tech Support. I have an 04 with the non-JBL headunit. Here is the lineup he said that I needed to wire in my XM and my iPod all at the same time. Check it out.

"The parts you will need for this application are the PXDP, PXHTY#, and the PX2X. These will allow you to integrate your ipod and your satellite radio."

I totalled about $210 from the prices listed in their books online.
 
The PX2X only gives you an AUX in.... meaning you won't be controlling XM/Sirius with the headunit. All you can do is get one of the add-on pieces like a Starmate, Sportster, etc.... and wire it in directly rather than FM Modulated. It does not give you the ability to do both Sirius/XM and Ipod and control directly with the headunit.
 
Sorry I guess I missed the part where he wanted to control them all through the stock headunit. If that is the case I greatly doubt he will ever find something like that. Just buy a new deck with the ability to get XM or Sirus (like Kenwood) and use their adapter (I think they are $20 or $30) to plug your iPod into it which will allow you to control it through the CD changer aux jack using the headunit.

Does anyone have the part number to this factory cable, that goes with every 2006 scion or toyota ipod compatible radio?
