IPod Users -Battery Life??

My original plan was to buy a Kenwood Head unit and attach a Music Keg to it. Well now I was going to buy it and came to realize that if buy an Ipod it would be cheaper and give me more storage space.
Since this I will now be able to hear my music everywhere, I am concerned about battery life. For those of you who have had your Ipod for a while, should I really be concerned with it? Will the battery last me a couple of years?

Avoiding extreme temps,doing a full recharge once a month from zero charge will help extend battery life. Also use the wall charger to do the full charge since the USB ports have been known not to fully recharge the battery even if it says it's fully charged.

Cool, Thanks for the info. Just picked it up this weekend. Now it its just a matter of loading and sorting through 4,000+ songs.

I have a 4th Gen Color (pre video) and I normally swing three days worth of work out of it -- so a little shy of 20hrs. About a half-hour each way to/from work and 5-6hrs a day while at work and it's limping along on the third day.

I use mine at work everyday but it usually gets a full charge at home every day pretty much plus anywhere I go it's in the truck. I love not having to carry any CDs around with me now that I have 400 with me at all times.

Thanks for the reply guys. I love having this little device, must say that trying to build good playlist is turning out to be a chalange. My collection is a combination of music I like (40%) and what my wife listens to. Truth be told that I do enjoy some of the music she listens to, but not all the time. Trying to decide how to handle it.

I have some friends that are married and they all are a two iPod household.
