ipod volume...

Has anyone found out the reasoning why when you hook up a mp3 device such as an ipod the volume output is so low? I am referring to the mini-stereo plug available on later 4th gen models. I have to move the volume all the way up to 40 to get nice sound out of mine...Hs anyone found a way to increase the volume?

Mine isn't. Just make sure the volume on your ipod is all the way up and not at headphone level.

So are you saying that the volume is the same on your fm stereo as it is on the ipod when the volume level is set the same?

Thanks

My IPOD volume was actually higher than my regular radio. I found I had to turn up the radio after jamming with my IPOD. I'm using the PIE adapter though as in 2004 we didn't have the built in AUX port. Definitely make sure your IPODS are cranked up.

Also you sure you don't have a French IPOD? No I'm dissing on the French. The French IPODs have been throttled down to a lower volume by firmware because of a law suit. People complained that IPOD users are going deaf in France

I tried hooking up my XM radio through the console IPOD jack using a Radio Shack male-male cord and also had volume problems. In addition I had audible engine noise. I went back to the FM modulation.
