Irritating question...

A buddy @work recently made a comment about my 4Runner and its been bothering me ever since. He said something to the effect that 4Runners are a womans SUV. Since he said that, all I see are female drivers in 4Runners!!! I even took stock of the trucks here at my job and noticed that there are 5 trucks here including mine... drivers = 2 guys and 3 girls (1 lesbo). I drive in the Ontraio area in SoCal. Has anyone else noticed this in your area or is it just in my head?

I'd like to know what SUV's are manly according to your co-worker. Around here anyway I'd say 9 out of 10 fullsize SUV's (Tahoe's,Sequoia,Expedition) are driven by women aka soccer moms. I notice again around here in central Texas that midsize utes are more often driven by men or well this being a college town sorority girls. When it comes to luxury SUV's I'd say it's 50/50.
 
Your buddy is correct.

He just forgot to tell you that the girlyman factor is caused by your 4R being a 2WD.

The H3 commercials show that a girlyman can be made into a man by buying one. And that a woman can become a woman be buying one. So is the H3 a girlycar or a manly car?

Most of the H2 drivers here in SoCal are soccermoms.

Now my wife's RX330.........That is a chick car.
 
Look for me driving around Ontario, I'm not a girly man. Of course, chances are you'll see my rig a day that my wife has it...:biggrin2:

I've noticed that there are more male 4runner drivers in the Bay Area. The SUVs that I see females driving are: Highlander, RAV4, CRV, and Lexus RXs. There's quite a few driving Tahoes and Envoys.

Now go kick your coworkers ass! The beat down will make you feel more manly.:D :bash: :D

I think the Ford Explorer is the ultimate chick SUV. It has the most cupholders, vanity mirrors, little cubbies and storage compartments of any SUV out there. Ford purposely designed all of these into the Explorer to appeal to women (probably pretty smart on their part...).

The point about the 4Runner is that it's reliable transportation. I've never subscribed to the belief that your vehicle defines you.

Thai, you should be happy to know that the local high school cheerleading coach also drives a G. haha
 
I am a girl and I like my 4runner - I used to have a highlander!! That is definately a chick car. I bought the 4runner because it is a mans car (no, not a lesbo....). I feel more important and definately smarter - and more respected since I made such a smart decision purchasing one. I do only have the 2wd, but I dont think i will be using any 4wd here in FL anytime soon!! Oh yeah, since i bought it, I have had more men check me out too. (maybe they are wondering what a lesbo looks like) Just kidding!! Dont worry about what that guy says, he is obviously just jealous - like some of my male co-workers!!
 
I live in the "Valley" and I definitely see more women than men driving 4th gens.

It's frustrating to hopefully get a wave or a nod of recognition when you spy the driver is female and realize she has no clue to the offroad heritage and ability fo the 4Runner.

I get more recognition from Tacoma and Tundra drivers than other 4Runner drivers.:( :D
