Is it ok to run rear shocks w/o top bushings?

Installed boss kit on my 01 sport two weekends ago. I'm running the bilstien 5100 in the the rear with the extension brackets. Is it ok to run no bushings on the top mount?

It's going to be metal on metal contact, I wouldn't risk. Seeing as how pulling the rear shocks takes all of 30 mins.

The bilstien's that come with the ultimate kit have extension brackets with bushings in them, do I still need top and bottom upper rear shock washers/ bushing set up?

that shock is eye to eye correct? the adapter should bolt into the original shock location without bushings. make sure its secure i advise a strong loctite.
