Is it possible to remover roof rack on 2004 4Runner?

Greetings:

Is it possible to remove the roof rack (either completely or partially) on a 2004 4Runner v6 4x4 sport ed? If so, where can I find an instruction and will it risk to have a roof leak later on?

Thanks for your great link.

I think I am going to skip dismantle the roof rack, since the mounting hole would need to be weatherproof after removing the rack. I will only remove the cross link instead.
