Is it Possible...

To change the front drivers bottom seat cushion for the passenger one? Mine are in pretty good condition except for a small spot on the drivers side that is worn from hopping in and out.

I took a look under it this morning and it has the security thing hooked to it, I would think that would be easy enough to move, anything else that might cause an issue?

Thanks a bunch,
Maxil

I think I have already seen several threads regarding this, see if you can turn up anything in the search box.

I believe you need to remove the hog rings holding the cushion on and then swap the seats and install the rings. Hog ring pliers arent that expensive. I plan on doing this in a couple months.

The bottom covers and cushions are interchangeable. I did a DIY re-upholster on my driver's seat a few weeks ago and I just cut the hog rings off with a pair of dikes, easy peezy. I saw no benefit in putting hog rings back on so I just used small zip ties and saved time, $$, and probably a little sanity too. There are metal rods going through the covers where the hog rings go on so zip ties worked just as well and will not tear the cloth.

Thanks for that tip. I will try that when I do this in 2 months. I plan on getting some leatherique dye to touch up the drivers side a little before I switch them.

I appreciate the help, looks like the first mod is coming this weekend, if you can call it one.
