State Farm hadn't contacted me in almost a week so I called them again yesterday. They have only called me twice this process - I keep having to call them. Maybe they're trying to delay paying? I don't understand, it's not like I'm going anywhere and the 4Runner isn't going to be worth any less. And it would be different if they were working on something or waiting on something and didn't need anything from me but the person I talked to told me they were waiting on getting the lien holder's phone number and my account number. So I gave it to them and supposedly they're going to pay the lien holder the balance of the loan and then cut me a check for what's left. I couldn't get a real time frame out of the person I talked to still. I guess they don't like to commit to anything.
The payout they're giving is fair. I should be able to get something similar to what I had. The problem now is finding it. I've been scouring Autotrader and see a few that I like but they're on the other side of the country. I don't want to wait too long to buy one, I'm having withdrawals driving other cars. I'm strongly considering either using a auto transport company or just flying to the car and driving it back. Anyone have experiences to share about auto transport companies? Anyone recommend one or are there any I should avoid?
