Is my LSPV broken?

I should do what the kid said, I will find a junkyard LSPV and swap them, because if his rear brake performance is better after being ziptied up, where mine is currently stuck, then I must need one.

Cool, glad your pleased with them. As for the lspv. I was following DOUS are a local OHV trail and when he was articulating over different terrain, I could see the the spring and lever of the LSPV were totally un-tensioned. So during the time of high articulation, he essentially had no rear brakes.

As Singtoe said, when we ziptied it up braking was 100% better, before I had little to no rear braking, even when my suspension was at rest. You said yours is stuck where mine was ziptied so something else must me the issue. It seemed like when Singtoe tried to do the delete for me it wasn't going to be that hard, just didn't have the needed supplies, as mentioned.

Durrell, LSPV only came on 2wd 4runners without electronic traction control.

Actually it's on all 4Runners and trucks I've seen.
If you think it's not working, disconnect it at the axle and tie the rod up to the frame.
In that position the system will provide max braking to the rear (imitating a full load in the bed).

I assume you installed Tacoma Bilsteins that are known to be very soft. I definitely know my 4wd does not have that mechanism on the back.

Yeah guys, it's pretty much decided that mine is busted. The thing should be braking like a madman but is not. I'll replace the valve and get back to you gents.

You must have not seen any 4runners that are newer then 1996 then.

Just to clarify for my exact case with another 3rd gen owner, was Dous' LSPV in the down position or in the up position when sitting?

It was sort of in the middle, Singtoe may know better. We jacked up the car on the rear diff. Put it in drive and he would move the lever around and I would brake, to see how it changed. With the lever Pulled down it took days for the wheels to stop; pushed up they stopped much better, not on a dime, but very well.
