Is my Optima battery garbage?

Good move, Optima is overpriced junk now that they're made in Mexico. The Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls & I've had no issues with them yet. Maxx Start! 5 year warranty! $100! You cant beat it.

Don't be too much of a JC cheerleader. Johnson Controls bought and then proceeded to ruin optima's reputation. :smash:

I have red top optima. And It's great. Just went to PA to a little car show at the casino. And almost every truck had a red top optima.

My Red Top lasted only 4 1/2 years, and it was one of the last Made in USA. I replaced it with a Costco battery in January 2011 and it is still starting strong. Cost less and lasted longer.

Plus at wallly mart, if ya show up about 1-2 months before the free replacement warrant expires and mention once or twice it has turned the engine over slowly, they'll test and most likely replace for free. Works for me. What a country! :cowboy:
