I can't stop staring at mine either. Whenever I park it somewhere, I always turn back a few times because it looks so good! The bad thing is you won't stop this habit with time. My truck is 1.5 years old and I still haven't stopped staring at it. I like to wash mine as well, but I also enjoy getting it dirty.

You guys/gals aren't the only ones admiring your 4Rs. I check her out every chance I get. When I head out to a place for lunch, I try to find a parking spot within view of the windows of the restaurant for 2 main reasons: 1) to make sure she's OK and that she doesn't get any door dings, 2) to admire her beauty of course! I also gaze at her as I walk back thru the parking lot.

I would hate to see you if you owned a high end vehicle in the $100k+ range. You'd probably never drive it for fear of getting it dirty.


I have a friend who owns a Lambo Gallardo ($160k+) and doesn't look twice at it when he gets out.

He gets upset when he comes back to his car and has to shoo away the guys standing around drooling over it.

But with the 4Runner, although it is a nice looking rig, they are too common to make a fuss over. But to each is own...I'm sure there is some guy out there driving a beat up 1983 Chevette who thinks my 4Runner is da bomb.

I already own a "really beautiful" vehicle, the T4R. Are you saying the T4R isn't "really beautiful"? It doesn't have to cost a million bucks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just like anything else though I think it goes deeper than "beauty". It's pride of ownership. And when you own the best of course you will be biased...

Ya'll is a southern term meaning to include everyone here (U's T4R.org guys and U's T4R.org gals)! I will not give that part of my heritage especially since I now temporary live a state with a LARGE number of immigrants (Califunky) who are proud and "force" me to respect their hertitages!

I notice the wierd way of how other 4 Runner drivers on the highway try not to look at another 4 Runner owner while driving down the freeway. I notice people sitting higher in his/her seat, gripping the steering wheel at the 10 and 2 O'clock positions, and trying really hard to look straight ahead. Both drivers are slyly cutting a glimpse at the other driver's 4 Runner when they go past.

Last week on the 91 freeway here in southern Califunky there was a white 4 Rnr sport in front of me traveling eastbound. I zoomed by him doing about 80 mph and then slowed down to 70 mph. He later zoomed past me then slowed after a few miles. We played passing tag a couple of times but he never turned his head nor did I. We both knew the other was cutting side eye glances at each other's Runners. The dude slowed down to allow me to pass again before he exited up and over the 91 freeway via the I-5.

The other day there was a lady and her daughter awaiting a green light turn arrow in a '03 SR5 gray cladded Runner. The mom would not turn her head but the daughter did and I could see them chatting while my light was red also. They completed the turn and the daughter waved but the mom continued looking straight ahead......even though I could see a small inner smile on her face. Ahhhhh.....the admiring games we 4 Runner owners play with each other.

BTW, I always give another 4 Runner driver PROPER RESPECT, no matter what generation of Runner they are driving!

"I vow to never cut off another 4 Runner driver"! Now Highlander owners......???

Now don't flame me cause taste is a personal thing, but no I don't stare at mine cause I think its beautiful, I stare at it cause its a cool looking machine. $$ doesn't matter, my $34K S2000 is a beautiful car,
I thought my early bronco was beautiful.
To me the T4R just looks ungainly with things sprouting all over, the spoiler, the scoop, the fender flares.
Of course thats what you want on an SUV, purposeful looking crap that doesn't have a low drag coeficient
