I Had my oil changed and at 42,000 miles on my 2006 V8 2WD SR5 the service technician reccomended replacing the differential oil, but told me that the rear diff had to have synthetic oil. Is this true?
The oil change for the differential cost me about $70.00 total
Im not sure what is used at factory, but service manual doesn't say syn or dyno, therefore use of either should be fine. Besides, diff oil does not need to be changed at 42,000 miles unless you tow or off-road all the time.
