Is that safe to use SUV touring tires on dirt road

Hi,
I have new GX 460 which has Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires on it. 99.9% of time I drive on Los Angeles streets and freeways. But sometimes we find time to drive to see something. Will it be safe to drive on maintaned dirt road with tires my SUV has on?

Just don't air them down very much... you should be fine.

Yeah, you should be fine. I actually saw a stock Lexus GX470 with OEM tires on Saints John, which is a pretty rugged trail here in CO. They seemed to do fine. For the occasional, easy/moderate off-road journey, you should be fine with your OEM H/T tires.

When it comes time to replace your Michelins, you should consider a P-rated All-Terain tire like the Bridgestone Dueler Revo. It maintains great road manners (quiet, good handling, etc.), is excellent in the rain and snow, and will perform much better than an H/T tire off-road, even if you don't 4-wheel very often.

Your tires are fine for that kind of road. I have done thousands of miles of dirt roads, often worse than that, in normal highway touring tires without problems.

I have thought about REVO, but what about speed rating? Michelin's is H, Revo's is T?!!! My new GX460, and I also heard the 5th Gener. 4Runner is drivable like a car!

If you're not in Germany on the Autobahn you're fine... A 'T' rated tire is good for a SUSTAINED 118mph. The 'H' rating is good for 130mph.

If for some reason you bumped up to 122mph (assuming the electronic speed limiter would allow it) it would be fine for a brief moment or two with the t-rated tire. Again, the speed ratings are for sustained speeds.
