Is the ARB Air locker sway-bar compatible?

My son & I just picked up his 4Runner after having an ARB air locker installed. The total bill was $675 which included installing the new locker and compressor (including a custom made mounting bracket) 2 new axel bearings, all fluids and seals and new brake shoes. Overall, we are very pleased with the shop, owners knowledge, cleanliness of shop and the quality of work done to the truck, however, we are left scratching our heads a bit. He said he had to remove the rear sway bar as it was too close to the inlet for the locker.

We have done LOTS of research and never heard this before. I'm wondering of the mechanic could have positioned the inlet a little better. Just wondering if anyone has had this same issue, or, know how we can accomplish re-installing the sway bar? The truck has HORRIBLE body roll without it. It has a 3" Toytec BOSS/Bilstein lift.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I recall, there is a difference in the sway bars of models with and without the e-locker. The non e-locker sway bar has contact issues when retrofitting in a locker. I'd try tracking down an e-locker sway bar and see how that clears.

I never noticed any difference between the sway bar that came off the e-locked axle and the one off a non e-locked. I put them together on the ground and there was no discernible difference Because the swaybar pivots on the axle bushings there is no way to gain clearance above the axle without making some sort of bracket to lift the whole bar upward

I took a couple of quick shots of my 2000. I did not have an elocker, was a standard swaybar. hope it helps. the ARB locker works just fine. I have not noticed any extra wear or tear in that area. I think the spring protects it.

I installed mine two weeks ago. I too was worried that the swaybar will interfere with ARB line, but fortunately the air line had plenty of clearance. If the hole was drilled an 1/2" down, the sway bar would have been really close. Best is to mark the location of the hole prior to removing the 3rd member. Picture is upside down

Mine is installed very similar to this and has no problems . If I was you I would reinstall the sway bar and see what it would take to clear . Mabey a 90 degree elbow on the fitting ? Or Sonoran Steels sway bar relocation brackets .

Another member had this issue clearing the elocker motor in a retrofit. He made some sway bar brackets to lift the sway bar about an inch. Sonoron Steel makes some also in his lift kits but if you email them they will usually sell them individually.
