Is the Scion tC HU worth over $300?

This Scion TC 6 disc went for $320 shipped, correct?

I have the single disc, non-jbl, system.

My car had a 6 disc, I miss it.
I will upgrade the stock speakers.
I will get satellite (sooner or later).
I want to keep the stock look HU.


I have two ideas:

1. Keep stock head unit, add a 4 channel amp.

2. Get the Scion 6 disc hu.



Three questions:


For those who have a 6 disc player & satellite, do you still use the 6 disc player? My friends with satellite swear they will never buy CDs again.


Does the Scion HU have ample power for aftermarket speakers?


Is the Scion more cost effective and easy to add satellite radio, or just user friendly (display and controls)?



I just want better sound, nothing competition grade. I can't hear the stock radio with the windows down.

250-300 is about right for a 6 disc HU. I would say if you are going to take the time to put after market speakers in, put in a new amp to power them. The scion HU will power them a lot better than the stock one, but you will get WAY better sound from an amp. If it were me i would go for the scion HU and speakers and an amp.
