Is the Toyota dealer f#*%ing serious?

I called them to ask how much they would charge me to have my SC installed since I really don't feel comfortable messing with the engine..so after being on hold for 20 minutes he says that the labor would be a minimum 2250.00 just to install it..WTF!!!!!!! Really??? there is no way that is an accurate price for an installation like that is it??

You can bring it by my place I've got a bit of free time for a much smaller fee than the dealership. Unless you have some computer/website skills for trade, i'm always up for a labor/labor trade if it makes my life easier.

I'd PM Stick Figure and set up a time that is conducive for both of you. I like his garage and would have zero qualms about letting him wrench on my own 4runner. Take some pics and post them.

My uncle has never installed one which is why I don't want to ask him, yeah I hope we can find a good time to do it!

It's a bolt on. There really isn't a whole hell of a lot to it. For that price you should just sell it. To me. And I'll install it. On my truck. And do a write up so you can see how it's done.

Seriously, I dont even consider it engine work. You take off one thing and replace it with something else and a few other small parts here and there.

You probably guessed it exactly. Something they don't do everyday, so price it high enough that you make it worth the time even if something goes pretty wrong.

Figured I would give you a chance at doing a labor trade, I have some website questions/work that I would like to do at some point in the future that is either going to involve some help or a lot of researching.

its actually a good bit of work its not like just swapping over intake manifolds.

that sounds about right. be lucky you dont want one on a 1GR
