Is there a fuse I can pull for the antenna motor on my 99 ltd?

The antenna is cracked off however the stereo still works fine. But everytime you start the vehcile or turn it off you hear a loud buzzing of the antenna motor trying to extend/retract the antenna that isn't there.

I checked the fuse boxes and theres nothing labelled for it.

I don't know about the 4Runners, but many cars have the amp and the antenna on the same circuit, so if you pull the fuse, you may not have any sound. If that happens, then maybe you can pull the wires at the antenna.

If you pull the head unit out. just behind it on the left side is the power antenna relay. just unplug it.
It will say antenna relay on it.

I suspect the '99 is probably the same as my '97. The antenna is "driven" by a plastic strap with gear teeth. Mine broke and I got tired of the motor running (antenna broke extended).

The replacement antenna wasn't too expensive.

Replacing it wasn't hard but getting the broken piece out is one of the dirtiest jobs I've done.

I went from below in the wheel well to take out the motor, open it up and take out the broken piece.

After you put that together, it was easy to put the new plastic strap in and let the motor pick it up.

There is a relay behind the CD player or you can pull open the passenger fender covers (black plastic) and disconnect the motor plug.

I wonder if the power antenna mast I got for the 240 would work? That car was too old that I couldn't get it apart so i left it since the radio works fine.

I pulled out the entire mast and white gear cord. The antenna mast was snapped at the base which caused it to come out. The white gear cord was fine. Maybe I could replace it fairly easily...
