Is this 4th gen really worth $26k?

I have been looking into getting into a 4th gen ever since my girlfriend got hers. I am looking for a clean white or dark grey 4th gen sportedition, V8, in 4wd with under 100k miles. I came across this one and was wondering what you guys think of the price. I think it’s absolutely high priced. I would be dealing in cash and I wouldn’t pay more than $21k for this, out the door mind you. I don’t know how rare these really are but I could get into a 5th gen for that price. What would you guys pay for this?

That would be a pretty popular price if you would be shopping where I live (Vancouver, Canada) but it would be in CAD lol

PS "dealing in cash" is not an advantage anymore - nobody really care how you pay.

If you really want it, you'll pay for it. It will go quick.

That said, a local dealer advertised one similar a few years ago. It was a bait and switch.

These things are so reliable it doesn't make much sense financially to spend an extra 12k for 100k less miles. Unless the cool/rare factor makes you happy.

Even offering $20k might be pushing it.

Wow man! That's more than I paid for my '08 LTD with 35k miles 7 years ago. But if it's clean and exactly what you want, shoot them a number. Be sure 4LO and center diff lock engage and check the frame condition, etc.

Sure it's low mileage but it's also almost 12 years old at this point. I'd be looking at sub-$20k but don't have the context for pricing in your area.

Good luck

That's a lot of dough for an 11 year old vehicle but the pics look great inside and out. Now's the time to try and get it for as low as you can. Who buys a car the last week of December? No one I know but maybe some do. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

One reason the price is so high is that it's in California, T4Rs in good condition are in high demand there, here in the S.E. where I live it would be lucky to sell for $14,000 IMHO even though they sell well here, even in California I would never pay the asking price, but they'll probably sell it for at least $20,000, to $21,000.

Wow. That’s a hell of a price. Here’s my take. Having owned BOTH a V6 and a V8, not gonna lie, I liked the V8 more. But is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to have one? To me, no. The extra power is great but when it really comes down to it the reliability of both is superb so you’re not really missing out on a whole lot here. At $26k, you’re right, you could get into a 5th gen that’s either new or one year old that has less miles than that.

This truck does not have leather or heated seats, it’s also not a limited. Depends how much that matters to you but I can tell you I would not spend $26k on an 11 year old vehicle even in this type of shape.

It really comes down to what you need and want it for. Also, is a V8 absolutely necessary to you?

Definitely not worth 25k, but a V8 4runner is the way to go.

If the truck had leather seats and they removed all of that super shine, which by the way looks like they just doused the car with it, then maybe it'll be worth close to 20k in my opinion.

I’m in the local area, and those guys are notorious for very high prices. That said, they do seem to purchase very high quality 4runners, and while they’ll sit for a while, they do end up selling. I’ve seen them airbrushing leather seats to condition them in prep. They put a lot of work in there. But, no, I wouldn’t pay that.

don't buy it. miramar motorsports are always $4-6K higher than anything else out there. i spent months looking at UZJ100s and 4th gens and their prices were all so astronomical. nice trucks, but they charge so much. also i read in a few places that the guys who run the place are complete dicks.

This would be a better option for you IMHO. Take the extra $16k if you have it and put it into mods. Plus its local to you!

The link doesn't seem to go where you want it to. Cached info in your browser maybe?

That's the place I bought my 4Runner. I haggled with them on the price over about a week and got them down about $3k. They're nice guys and really know 4Runners. One of my CV boots tore two weeks after I bought it and they paid to have it fixed even though I had lifted it which is what caused it to tear.

That's pretty much my dream 4Runner. To me, it would be worth trying to negotiate with them to get exactly what you want.

Price is insane but a huge degree!!! I bought a flawless still smelled and looked like new inside 87k mile 07 LTD V8 AWD in 2011 for $21k which was a killer deal I have to admit. Our current 03 LTD V8 AWD with 247k in damn good condition was found for just $4600 in late 2017 and have done no repairs and everything works just fine. I would look for a bit higher mileage one and pay half their asking price at the very most.
